Tired of being overweight and ready to get into the best shape of your life?

What is P90X? P90X is an extreme 90 day home fitness program created by famous fitness trainer Tony Horton.

My P90X Review:

I was one of those guys who was stubborn and believed that I could only get results by lifting heavy in the gym. In fact, I used to go to the gym every day for 4 years during my college baseball years. Even though I quickly hit a plateau, I always believed that I would eventually get beyond it and finally get that amazing 6-pack I had always hoped for. Well, it never came along, and it always left me puzzled why I couldn’t get to that point, and you actually might be experiencing the same thing. That was until I discovered P90X.

When you receive the program, you will get the 12 DVD’s and 1 explanatory DVD, along with a nutrition and fitness guide. The fitness guide shows you when to use each DVD and goes into great detail (100 pages of detail) about each exercise, showing you proper form in both pictures and words. This guide will help you tremendously if you want to go to the gym and do the workouts there. The Nutrition Guide explains thoroughly how, what, and when you are supposed to eat. It’s set up in 3 Phases, starting off with the Fat Shredder Phase, then increasing the carbs for the next two phases to help you build some muscle. I knew I had to commit myself 110% to the diet, and if you want great results, I encourage you to do the same!

You will quickly discover that the first few weeks are brutal!  The workouts are super intense, especially Chest & Back, Plyometrics, and Legs & Back. If you are like everyone else that first begins the program, you’re going to be the most sore you have ever been in your entire life! I know I was!  Even though you will be sore, it’s important that you don’t give up and keep pushing yourself to complete each workout from Day 1 to Day 90. If you’re able to complete all the workouts and follow the proper diet, there is no doubt in my mind that you will see great changes by Day 90!

Below is my Day 1 and Day 400 comparison! If you are ready to take the P90X challenge and want to get into the best shape of your life, then click below to try P90X today!

Who can use P90X? The great thing about this amazing program is that it can suit for multiple needs, whether you are looking to shed that excess fat or add on some mass. There are 3 different versions: Classic, Lean, or Doubles. The Classic version balances cardio and resistance workouts to add on some muscle and get you ripped! The Lean focuses more on cardio, and the favorite among women. Doubles is for you crazy people who want to see extreme results fast! Doubles is the same as the Classic version, but with an added cardio workout on all resistance days! Whether you are skinny and looking to gain mass or overweight and ready to shed the pounds, this program can work for you!

What seperates P90X from other workouts? The secret is an advanced technique called “Muscle Confusion,” which doesn’t allow you to plateau during the entire 90 days! This program puts you through 3 intense phases, focusing on a different set of workouts for each phase, not allowing your body to plateau and for you to get bored! It comes with 12 extreme DVD’s, each working together to get you into the best shape of your life!

Not only will you receive 12 DVD’s, but also a 3-phase nutrition program, a fitness guide, and the “BRING IT” video, allowing you to maximize your results and reach all your fitness goals!

The complete P90X system includes:

3 GUIDES TO GET YOU STARTED!

  • 3 Phase Nutrition Plan designed to help you lose fat while maintaining high energy levels.

    Hey Josh,
I was wondering 2 things. Which version of P90X did you use? Classic or Double? Also, what are the other things that are required (as far as hardware goes) for my daily workouts? I see that you recommend pushup bars and resistance straps, but what about the pull up bar? I’m assuming I need that. Also, is there anything else that I will need related to the work outs specifically?

    Thanks!
    Seth

  • Josh (author) said:

I used the Classic version for the first two months and then switched to Doubles for the last month in order to burn the remaining body fat. For your workouts you will need the P90X Pull-Up bar and either dumbbells or resistance bands. You can find the bar and bands on this site. There is nothing else that is completely necessary, but there are many things that definitely help, like the Yoga Blocks and Yoga Mat, but again, they aren’t necessary.

[...] If you are someone that I coach, this will be something you have heard from me many, many times: the diet is the most important part of the program! I always say that your results will come from 80% diet and 20% workouts, and I’m not exaggerating either! So why is it important to follow the proper diet while doing any exercise program, not just P90X? [...]

Hey i have a question on more of the chest area, now i benched an all, but i cant get my pecs to cup at the bottom like yours, what do i do to help get them to do that or on the videos what push up do i need to work harder on?

    Thanks.

  • Brent said:

Josh, I bought P90X a few months ago and tried it but wasn’t seeing any results so I gave up and joined the gym. I tried to follow the diet plan and worked out everyday but seemed to be gaining weight instead of losing it. Know what I’m doing wrong? I’m think I am going to double up on gym and P90x to see if I can’t get somewhere with this. Very frustrated b/c after working this program I didn’t seem to get the results other people are getting. Do you think my diet could have been the problem?

  • Josh (author) said:

The best advice that I can give regarding chest exercises (push-ups) is to make sure you focus on proper form and push yourself till failure every time. Whenever I feel that I can get just one more rep, I push myself to get 4 or 5 more. That’s where you will see the most results!

  • Josh (author) said:

Some people actually gain weight when they first begin the problem, and the reason being because you are losing fat and gaining muscle. I tell all the people that I coach to not pay attention to the scale, but judge by how you feel and what you see in the mirror. However, the main reason is more and likely your diet. It’s very important to follow the proper fat/carb/protein %’s for each phase.

  • Richie said:

hey i was wondering when you said phase two in the video did you do anything different and did you ever double up on like gym and p90x or if it was just p90x?

  • Josh (author) said:

I didn’t change anything until the second round.

  • Rodrigo said:

Hey Josh…Congratulations, really amazing results with this program. I live in Santiago, Chile and I haven’t found a way to ship this program to my country ’cause I’m eager to start to transform my life. This seems to really work as I have seen a lot of testimonials on the web. Again congratulations and I hope here in Chile we can soon have this priceless opportunity. Any help on shipping I would be entirely grateful

  • Josh (author) said:

Thanks man! Unfortunately, I’m not aware of how to get it shipped overseas. What you might want to do, however, is contact Beachbody and ask them yourself.

  • Robert said:

    Josh,
I just bought the program and am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Is there anything I should be doing to prepare? I want to make sure that I get a good start without getting hurt. I am in my last year of a 20 year Naval career and really want to start the next phase of my life in better shape then when I started the last. I have one room in my house prepped and ready to workout in. I have no idea what suppliments, if any, I should be looking at. I am sure that they are not required but I want to maximize my results. Does the package include a guide of what is (recommended), if not, do yo have a list/schedule that you would recommend? Thank You.

  • Josh (author) said:

If you go to the “Q&A” section of this site, just about every one of your questions are answered.

  • Miguel Hernandez said:

    Hey Josh,

Me, my Wife and my sister are thinking of joining the gym to burn fat and get toned but it would cost alot of money for the membership for all of us 3 to join so im thinking of considering of buying this p90x program but can this be done with myself and 2 girls since man and women have diff. bodies…which one would you recommend and what would I need is this for family?

  • Josh (author) said:

I recommend this program for both men and women! My fiance and I have both gone through the program and gotten excellent results! You can purchase it from this site. Let me know if you have other questions.

  • Milan said:

Hey josh what equipment do you need for the p90X program? what would you recommend?

  • Josh (author) said:

You can find the answer to that in the “Q&A” section.

  • angelo said:

to get the results you did, did you just focus on your upper body? Or did you use every single workout?

  • Josh (author) said:

I followed P90X exactly how it’s supposed to be followed, which focuses on each muscle group, not just the upper body.

  • Mike said:

    Nice job man!
I live in the Netherlands and I started training like a month ago, I noticed that i make a lot of progress even without this program.
Do you think if I order this program, it will even make my progress go faster?
I’m quite skinny, so my target is to build mass and muscles.
Did you use any supplements, like creatine or protein powders? (Whey shakes)
Sorry if my english isn’t the best.

    Greetings, Mike from holland

  • Mike said:

    I forgot this question:

Is it possible to get this in the Netherlands? Or will the costs grow very high then? To ship it and stuff you know…

Hope to hear from you soon!

  • Josh (author) said:

You can find the answers to your questions in the “Q&A” section on this site. And yeah, this program will accelerate your results.

  • Josh (author) said:

You won’t be able to order the program from this site because we only ship to the US and Canada.

  • Angie said:

I just bought the P90x System a few weeks ago Im afraid to try it. Im really concerned that Im going to lose weight. I am 5 foot 4 and I weigh 102 lbs. I really dont want to lose weight(obviously), So I purchased the P90x in hopes that I will gain weight by gaining muscle. Do you recommend me using this system or will I lose weight? and if so, should I use the Classic or doubles? Thanks in Advanced!

  • Patrick said:

    Hey Josh,
Let me start by saying you look amazing, congrats. I am considering to buy P90X along with three of my closest friends, one of which, along with myself, are volunteer firefighters for a small town in Missouri. We wanted to know what happens after the 90 days. Do you start over or is there more or what? We really want to try this out and are bringing it to the attention of others in our fire district. Many of the Firefighters are willing to get rid of all the junk food in there shift closets and would like to get an idea of what to expect in the way of dieting, workout, and how to keep improving and stay fit after completeing it. I hope that you can assist me in creating a healthy work eniviornment for me and my fellow brothers and sissters here at the fire house.

    Thanks

  • Josh (author) said:

Hey Angie! Haha no need to be afraid! If you’re eating properly, you shouldn’t lose any weight. It’s very important that you eat enough! Since you don’t want to lose weight, follow the Classic version.

Also, look into the Club Membership, which will create specific meal plans for you, and is just a few bucks a week. There are many other benefits as well, and you can learn more by clicking on this link: http://www.iwanttogetripped.com/get-fit/club-membership/. Being a Club Member helped me tremendously when I first started the program! Becoming a Club Member will also make me your coach!

  • Josh (author) said:

Hey man! After my 90 days were up, I went through P90X Plus, and have been doing a mix of P90X/P90X Plus/One on One workouts since then. P90X is not just a 90 day program, but rather a complete lifestyle change! The most important part of the program is the diet, so it’s very important that you get rid of all the junk food around you. You can find excellent diet tips on this site in the “Q&A,” “My Diet,” and “Nutrition” sections. Also, if you purchase P90X from this site, I will automatically be assigned your coach and help you all through the program. You might want to look into the “Peak Results Package,” which comes with P90X, the Pull-Up Bar, 3 Resisatance Bands, and a 30 day supply of the Recovery Formula.

  • marcos said:

hey how much is this?? cause i order it and it almost $200 buckS!!!!! thats crazy for twelve F DVDs

  • Josh (author) said:

It’s $119.85 on this site. You might think that’s expensive, but you have to think about the money your going to save by not going to the gym. It’s been almost a year and a half since I’ve been to the gym, which has paid for my P90X 3 or 4 times already. Also, I used to go to the gym every day in college and didn’t get nearly close into the shape I’m in now from P90X.

  • marcos said:

hey, i guess i was just complaining coz p90x was on its way, but today i did the first day and oh boy oh boy I paused the video like 5 times. Its great and all i need is to eat the the right food today.. I ate wendy’s today wish is my last time having cook and fries . more like a reward to myself and motivation to do this :)

  • Josh (author) said:

If you want great results, you have to change your diet and eat healthy. “Rewarding” yourself too often will slow your results and you will get discouraged. You need to read through the “Motivation” section.

  • John said:

    Josh –
You’re results are inspiring! I started the program this past monday…I read the description of your diet and will be following that closely. Which week did you start to notice the soreness subside and the strength start to creep in?

    Thanks

  • Josh (author) said:

The soreness started to decrease a little during about the 3rd or 4th week. Have you added me as your coach yet? If not, click on the link to do so: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/11685

I am going on the 3rd phase of the program, and I am seeing results. There are alot of moves I just can not phyically do (pull ups, and only a few push ups) It took a long time to see results, but I also go to the gym in the moring and do 45 minutes at least a day of cardio. I have alot of muscle already, so unfortunately, I only lost about 4 pounds, but I have tightened up. My strength has improved ALOT, along with my balance. Unfortunately, I am not able to do the Yoga part at all due to a back injury. I tried it a few times, and it was just not worth having to lay with a heating pad on my back for at least 3 days afterwards. Everyone is different and everyone’s results will vary. Stick with the program, and you will see results. I have one more phase to go, and I am planning on repeating the program again. It does help to throw in some extra cardio etc. Oh and by the way….I did not as many carbs it said to in phase 2 and 3. I did alter the food plan a little bit.

Dude…I joined beachbody through your P90X order link and I don’t think they hooked you up as my coach…My e-mail said sign in to find your coach and I can’t find him/her! What happened?

If you ordered P90X from this site, then I am your coach. Did you order it from here?

  • Glenna said:

    Hi Josh -

My friend Rob referred me to this site and I just ordered P90X. From last July through November I lost 50lbs and have maintained that weight loss for 4 months now (and NEVER going back)…. however my body fat is still around 30% (measured via electrical impedence at the doctor’s office). I’m 44 years old, 5′5″, now weigh 148lbs and am a size 3-4. I lost the weight on the Zone and I DO NOT want to load up on any starchy carbs (only veggies for me – bread and rice makes me want to eat EVERYTHING in sight). Can I still use your coaching and do P90X by adapting the diet to my requirements?

    Thanks!
    Glenna

  • Josh (author) said:

Hey Glenna! First of all, thanks for purchasing the program from my site! Also, congrats on the 50lbs weight loss! OK, you’re going to want to follow the Nutrition Guide, which starts off with low carbs and high protein, which is what it sounds like you’re aiming for! If you want, you can stick with the Phase 1 plan for most of the entire program, which is what I did during my first round. You need to go through the entire “Q&A” section on this site, which will help you get started with everything. Let me know when you have other questions!

Everything you’re eating looks great, but you need to log that into http://www.fitday.com so you know the exact number of cals and % of fat/carbs/protein. Remember, in Phase 2, it’s 20/40/40.

    hey josh,
ive been following the p90x program for 3 weeks now and im seeing results already, but theres one problem, i sleep during the day and work at night. Its tough following a diet for me because i dont know exactly what to eat at night. Usually I have my meal 1 1/2 hour prior to workout, but then once heading to work at 11p.m its mainly water and sometimes fruits. Should i be eating at night time as well? (keep in mind job consist of nightwatch Security nothing stressful)

  • Josh (author) said:

You need to eat just like you would if you worked during the day. Also, you should look into Shakeology, which is a meal replacement, and can make it easier on you since you don’t have foods to prepare! http://myshakeology.com/spence8. What programs and supplements would you reccomend to throw on the xtra muscle fast and shred the abs up?
Also, have you ever tried force factor?

  • Josh (author) said:

@jp. What you need to do is check out the “Workouts” section, where you will find 2 posts about gaining mass with P90X. The supplements you will need to look into are creatine, Recovery Formula, and a pre-workout supplement like Jack3d. I have never actually tried Force Factor. Also, have you made me your coach yet? If not, you can do so by clicking on this link and I’ll be here to help you through the program: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/11685

    Hello Josh,

What is a good starting resiatnceband level. On the website there is a super kit (20-40lbs) and an extreme kit (40-50lbs) which would you recommend?

  • Josh (author) said:

@Jason. Really, it depends on how strong you are. If you’re already in pretty good shape, then go with the Extreme Kit. If you’re a workout beginner, then go with the Super Kit.

  • Josh (author) said:

@Billy. I recommend doing P90X, which is the program that I started off with. If you can commit yourself to both the diet and the workouts, then you will lose the body fat and see results! If you purchase P90X from this site, I will become your coach and be here to help you through the program. Let me know if you have other questions!

Please let me know about more diet supplements

  • Jason said:

Thanks for the info. Also is it true you can never plateau from P90X?

  • Josh (author) said:

@Jason. I wish that was true, but if you do a workout long enough you will hit a plateau. That happened to me on about my 3rd round of P90X. That’s when you add in other programs like P90X Plus, Insanity, and One on One.

  • Josh (author) said:

@Mark. You can find a list of supplements that I use and recommend in the “Q&A” section. Also, if you haven’t made me your coach yet, you can do so by clicking on this link: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/47458

  • Jason said:

I figured so. I have a set of insanity. In your opinion is P90x Plus a good workout after two rounds of P90x?

  • Josh (author) said:

@Jason. I like P90X Plus and it’s good to add in with P90X. However, Insanity is a little more intense when it comes to the cardio.

  • andrew said:

i was just wondering how you gained your mass like a weight gainer or just natural foods??

  • Josh (author) said:

@Andrew. You can find out how I gained mass with the program by going to the home page and typing in “gain mass with P90X” in the search box.

  • Jason said:

Hello Josh, have you ever tried Chalean Extreme? It looks like an altered version of P90x targeted moreso for women, is this the case? Would you recommend it?

  • Josh (author) said:

@Jason. I’ve never tried Chalean Extreme, but I’ve heard it’s a good workout for both men and women.

  • Jason said:

Hello Josh, I just saw an advertisement for P90X:MC2, do you know when this will be released? Also i know that the development of this program is being done via p90x one on one series, have you tried this?

  • Josh (author) said:

@Jason. There haven’t told us when the release date will be yet and yes, I have tried the One on Ones and they are awesome!
