About a year and half ago, when I was finishing up my first round of P90X, my coach approached me and asked if I wanted to become an Independent Beachbody Coach. At first, I was very skeptical and didn’t know what all was involved, so I ended up doing my own research on the opportunity. I found out that as a coach I would be helping people go through P90X or any other Beachbody program that they were beginning, giving advice and sharing tips on what worked for me, along with the opportunity to make some money. After I realized that the Beachbody Coaching Opportunity was not a scam, I decided to join Team Beachbody, and it was by far one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
I didn’t get into coaching to make money, far from it actually. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, and I get great satisfaction when I know I have helped change someones’ life. After a few months of being a coach, I started to notice that the people I was coaching were buying Beachbody products from me, and I got my first check. It wasn’t much, but it was something. It was at that point that I realized that I can really take this business to the next level. I then thought about the opportunity to be able to make this a full time job in the future. Heck, I would be able to work when I want, where I want, take as many breaks as I want, be financially independent, and still be home to spend time with my family. Really, it’s the American Dream! If that’s not enough to motivate you, then there really isn’t anything else that will. Being the hard worker that I am, and someone who doesn’t stop until I reach my goals, I knew that I could do this. I couldn’t allow myself to settle for a 9-5 job, it’s just not me. I have big dreams, and I won’t stop until I reach them!
I decided to focus more time with coaching, and worked hard every day, doing the little positive things that would help me reach my goal of making this a full time job in the future. The only thing that I could see at that point was 2-3 years down the road, making enough money to support my family and actually enjoying life. I didn’t focus on the immediate results, because I knew that immediate results don’t exist. I knew that in one month I wouldn’t be able to reach my goal of making coaching a full time job, and I was perfectly fine with that. I knew that there was much for me to learn, and that I would fail every once in a while, but I was going to learn from my failures in order to make me a better coach in the future.
Through constant adjustments in what I was doing, my own research, and talking to other successful coaches, I learned the ins and outs of coaching, and the things that I could do to make my business grow at a steady rate. A year and a half later, I am making enough money for this to be my full time job.
You know what the great thing about this opportunity is? You can follow in my footsteps and do the exact same thing. There is nothing stopping you from being a successful Beachbody Coach, nothing. You can reach your goals, as long as you set your goals high and do everything possible to reach them. Because I’ve been a successful coach, I will provide you with the right training, and help you grow at a faster rate than I did. If you’re tired of struggling with your job, have a hard time paying your bills, or just want to make a few extra bucks here and there, this opportunity is for you! Below are some common objections and my responses.
“I don’t have the time to be a coach.” Will you ever have the time? No. Time is the biggest excuse there is, whether it’s with the coaching opportunity or with the workouts. The ones who are successful with both don’t make excuses, and will always make time. When I started coaching, I had a full time job as a Financial Advisor, working from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM, but still fit in all my workouts and made time to spend an hour or two building my coaching business. If you believe you can do it, then you can! Your mind paves the way to success.
“I don’t have the money to be a coach.” This is probably one of the least expensive opportunities to start your own business out there. It only costs the intial $39.95 to get started and $14.95 a month thereafter, and you have to look at that money spent as an investment. I made enough money in the first two months to cover those costs, and now I’m making enough money to cover every single bill, and still have a lot left over to enjoy life. If your worried about money, think about the potential to make a lot of money in the future. I did.
“I’m not a good salesperson.” You don’t have to be a good salesperson. You just have to be someone that is enthusiastic about helping others and improving your own fitness. I don’t sell products, I recommend products that are proven to work. I’m highly confident that P90X, Shakeology, the Recovery Formula, and the Whey Protein work, and I don’t have any problem with telling others that they work. Those are the products that have gotten me to the point I’m at now, and because of that, people purchase them off of me. If you speak about something with passion and confidence, you don’t have to sell anything.
“I don’t have good enough results to be a coach.” It doesn’t matter if you’ve had crazy results or just average results, the fact is that you have gotten results. We are an overweight country, and people want to know what they can do to lose weight. If you dedicate time towards improving your own fitness level, are passionate about helping others, then you can be a coach. The longer you wait, the more likely you won’t ever sign up. I hear this excuse every day. Some of the most successful Beachbody Coaches aren’t in excellent shape at all!
“I don’t have the knowledge to coach others.” This is another common objection that I get, but one that I can easily clear up. Do you think that I had all the knowledge when I first started coaching? Not at all. In fact, all I knew was what I learned from the P90X workouts and Nutrition Guide. My goal was to motivate people and help them stay on track, not provide diet and fitness instruction. However, as I progressed through my coaching career, doing much research, I have learned many things about fitness that I did not know before. Now, I am confident in giving diet and fitness advice, so that’s why I do it. You don’t need to be an expert to be a coach!
