I’m a firm believer that in order to be successful in something, you have to be completely passionate about it. When I competed my first round of P90X, I knew that it was a program that worked because I had experienced outstanding results. From that point on, I found myself talking about the program all the time, and helping people achieve results like I did. After recommending Beachbody products over and over again, I felt it was time that I made the transition from a Beachbody customer to a Beachbody coach, and that’s exactly what I did back in July of 2008. That was when my life began to change.
Before I even started P90X, I started a career as a Financial Advisor. I went through college believing that it was the best career choice for me because I would be able to help others with their finances. I enjoyed math and helping others, so the career choice made sense to me, but unfortunately, once I got involved, I quickly found out that I wasn’t completely passionate about it. I went through the motions so to speak, learning the ins and outs of the business, but I had the toughest time talking to other people about it. Even though I know there is a purpose for things like life insurance (I’m a whole life policy owner myself), I guess it wasn’t something that I felt comfortable with talking to other people about. Maybe it was the negative connotation of life insurance and securities, I don’t know, but whatever it was, I didn’t enjoy it. Once I started P90X and got into unbelievable shape, I became completely absorbed with health and fitness. It quickly became my passion and what I enjoyed talking about the most.
When I became a Beachbody Coach, it was so easy for me to recommend Beachbody products to others because they were something that I knew worked because they worked for me. Everybody loves talking about health and fitness and losing weight, and I had a solution, so it was very easy to bring up in conversation. Plus, with me being a walking billboard of P90X, it sure did help with credibility, so people listened to me and got on board. I quickly discovered that I was spending WAY more time answering emails and recommending these products than I was on my own job, and it effected me because the lack of attention on my job led to my pay getting suspended. However, no matter how hard I tried to focus back on Financial Advising, my attention was on coaching because it was so fulfilling knowing I was helping people change their lives. The more I did it, the more absorbed I became.
What was interesting is that I noticed my Beachbody paychecks increasing from week to week, and it wasn’t like I was actually trying to build the business. I had other priorities, and coaching felt like a hobby to me, something I enjoyed thoroughly. It finally got to the point where I was making as much money part time as a Beachbody Coach as I was full time with my career, and that’s when I decided to become a full-time Beachbody Coach. That was the best decision of my life because that’s the year I earned Top Beachbody Coach 2010 honors out of over 50,000 coaches in the U.S.! I had gone from despising my job as a Financial Advisor, making little money, to loving my job as a Beachbody Coach, creating complete financial independence for my family and I.
So when it all comes down to it, when should you become a Beachbody Coach? Really, if you want to be very successful in the business, you have to be completely passionate about the products, and the only way to do so is by using them yourself and getting results. The reason I talk about P90X and Shakeology so much is because these are products that I have personally used and experienced outstanding results with, so I am 100% confident they will work with other people. Also, if you love health and fitness, this is a great business to start up on the side as well. What it all comes down to is passion for the products and belief that you can make a difference in people’s lives!
