Why I Became a Beachbody Coach

Vacation 012Throughout the course of 2 and a half years as a Beachbody Coach, there have been certain things that drive me to succeed, to do what I do. Those things are my motivational tools, or my “why” as others call it. Most people know that I won Top Beachbody Coach 2010, but they don’t know the reasons I push so hard to accomplish all of my goals, why I’m so passionate about this business, so I figured I would take some time and explain those reasons, share my “why.”

I have always had a passion for helping other people. In fact, I used to be involved with an organization you might have heard of, Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have been raised to always be positive, work hard towards your goals, live with integrity, learn from your failures, and because of so, I’m able to share those lessons with others and have a positive influence on them. I figured there wasn’t a better group to have a positive impact on than young children who are less fortunate. When I was a Freshman in high school, I decided to become a “Big” to a young boy named David. David was 8 years old at the time, and has had a very rough childhood. His parents abandoned him, and he and his sister both lived with their grandma. That’s a tough responsibility in itself, but on top of that, his sister was paraplegic. David had no positive male influence in his life, and I thought that I should step in and provide him some direction.

After being involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for many years, I knew I wanted to have a career where I could have a positive influence on others and help change lives. I thought that becoming a financial adviser was that career, but after being one for about 5 months, I quickly found out that’s not where my passion lies. About 4 months after I began my financial advising career, I was given the opportunity to become a Beachbody Coach. At first I refused, but after thinking about it for some time, I decided that this was a great chance for me to combine two passions of mine, helping others and fitness. I understood that there was an opportunity down the road to make it a full time career, but took it one step at a time so I didn’t overwhelm myself. As I progressed in the Beachbody Business, I realized that I was helping hundreds of people change their lives, and it was unbelievably fulfilling! I literally would have continued being a coach even if I never earned a dime, but the great thing about this opportunity is that you get paid to help people.

5 months after I became a Beachbody Coach I met my now fiance, Melinda. Once I knew that her and I were serious, which was pretty quick, I knew that I wanted to be able to provide her with the life that she had never experienced before, one full of love, freedom, support, and without worry. I wanted to be able to stay at home with her every day and take breaks and vacations when I wanted, have financial security, but yet be completely passionate about what I did. Once I realized that I had that opportunity as a Beachbody Coach, I put in 100% effort to get to that point as quickly as possible. 2 years ago we were living paycheck to paycheck, not knowing how we were going to pay next months’ rent, but now we are financially secure, and have the freedom that we desired. We don’t have to worry, and that’s what it’s all about! Now that we have our daughter Madison, being a full-time Beachbody Coach is a blessing because I get to spend every single day with her and Melinda, and there is nothing better than that. Family is THE MOST important part of my life, and because of Beachbody, I’m able to enjoy life with them.
