[...] P90X® Chin-Up Bar [...]
Hi Josh,
Ill be purchasing P90X from my local workout centre this week. I am in need of a chinup bar, however with this chinup bar, does it require me to drill into the wall (I can’t as I rent). Is there an alternative product?
Thanks
Troy
The chin-up bar that I sell (P90X Bar) does not require nuts and bolts to assemble. It fits in most doorways. You can purchase it from this site.
Hey Josh, I want to purchase your chinup bar, however I’m not sure if it will fit into my door way…
These are the dimensions of my door way:
Width = 32 inches (Not including the frame) OR 35 Inches (including the frame)
Depth = Just under 7 inches (but definitley more than 6 1/2 inches) inches…
Would it fit into those dimensions or is the depth too big?
Much appreciated
It sounds like the bar will fit your doorway. It fits up to 32 inches wide, but you have to make sure you have border trim on the other side. It sounds like the depth is good as well.
I’m looking to purchase the chin up bar but do you need it to get ripped?
The chin-up bar is a very important part of the P90X program, and I highly recommend it.
hey, so does the p90x chin up bar need any hooks to hold it up?
and if not, how exactly does it fit in the door without breaking the trim?
but if it doest have the hooks, do you have to put them straight above the trim, or would it be possible to install the hooks higher up so that the bar sits right at the top of the door as im pretty tall and the higher the better. cheers mate.
It does not need hooks. Also, the way it’s designed it won’t break your trim unless you put too much weight.
Hey Josh I will be getting the p90x n the next week, dude I’m 230 lbs. Will the chin up bar hold me? Lol
Yeah man, it holds up to 330lbs. It was able to support my 230lbs best friend. If you purchase P90X from this site, I will automatically be assigned your coach and help you through the program. You can also purchase the bar from here as well, which you have already discovered. Let me know if you have other questions!
Ok thanks josh, i told u i would be getting p90x i ordered it about 2hours ago and i listed u as my coach.
Awesome! Let me know when you have other questions.
I’m considering getting P90x and I will list you as my coach if I do
. But, I have a question about the pull up bar. Do you need the P90x style pull up bar or can you just use a regular pull up bar. I am just wondering because this seems to have extra stuff and is a bit more expensive than I was expecting and I wanted to know if it was necessary.
There are many different grips that you will find with the P90X Bar that you won’t find with others. Plus, it’s very durable and can fit in most doorways without any nuts and bolts.
Josh
I want to order this chin up bar..But My depth is 7 1/2 inches on all doors in my house is that do long to wrap this around my frame or not? Thanks!!
Hey
I do not have a trim on my doorway. Is there anyway i can manually install the pull up bar with out a trim on the doorway..Any suggestions or solutions???
Thank You..
There is a way to bolt the bar to the wall. You need to look at the product specifics.
I’m actually not too sure what the maximum depth is, but my frame is 6″ and it fits perfectly.
If I’m 6′7” and have to duck when going underneath a lot of doorways, will that pull up bar even work for me?
And is there any substitute exercises/equipment??
The pull-up bar should work, but you might want to contact customer service and ask them. Go to http://www.teambeachbody.com and you will find the number. If you don’t get the bar, you could always get the resistance bands, which is a substitute for the bar. By purchasing anything from this site I will automatically become your coach and help you through the program.
I finshes day 2 and all I can say is wow!!! I thought I was in ok shape P90X has told me the opposite. I can’t wait till tomorrow so I can see what Tony has for me.
Haha BRING IT!
Hey Josh i weigh 174pounds and I’m 23yrs old, I’m really active and I’m in great shape thanks to the Air Force, but I didnt know about the coach system. How do i get enrolled in that? specifically if u could be my coach. Also i mentioned my weigh and health just to see if that was where you were at when u first started, really impressed with your results.
Hey man! As your coach, I will be here to help you through the program. Click on this link to make me your coach: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/11685
Hey im on the website u sent me the link to, and im at the part were it says “I have been referred by a Coach and will indicate my Coach below.” Do i just type in Josh? or do you have a screen name?
Disregard the other question, but now ive got another question. Im trying to make you my coach and i keep getting this error. “Please enter a valid city, state and zip. ” but the information is correct.
City is Honolulu, State is Hawaii, and Zip is 96853. ever had this problem before?
My screen name, Spence8, should already be selected.
Not sure why it’s not working. Never come across that issue before.
Its all good i got it to work. Anyways i added you as my Coach so Thanks again josh for all of your help.
Hey Josh, sorry to a pain but one final question lol ive got the Iron Gym bar already and ive seen the p90x bar and none of them will fit any of my doors my door width is too big. Is there a way to bolt the pullup bar to a wall? i checked out a bunch of sites and found nothing. Once really appreciate your help and my p90x comes in 5 days!
There is a way for you to bolt the bar to something. It comes with brackets and bolts.
Hi Josh, Saga Again, now with the gear problems…
It may sound weird but there’s no way i can use or install a chin up bar like the one you offer. Is it ok if i only use resistance bands throughout ALL the program? of course as i become stronger (hope so)i’d change to higher resistance bands, but i want to know your opinion about that. Thanks again for reading.
Yeah, you can use the bands.
Hey Josh, I have ordered P90X and its coming in a couple days, now I heard about the P90X pull-up bar and I’m wondering do I HAVE to buy it for the program. It seemed more expensive than I hoped, can I use a different bar or will that mess with my workouts?
Awesome man! Did you order it off this site? Anyways, the P90X Bar is great because it has a ton of different grips that you won’t find with other pull-up bars.
Josh~This may sound like a silly question but, do you need to see the dvd’s while using the pull up bar? I have no doorway that faces any of my t.v.’s. Just wondering if the pull ups will need to be done while watching the dvd’s. Will probably be ordering P90X this next week and probably the pull up bar.
Actually, you don’t really need to see the DVD’s to do the pull-ups! When I was living at mom and dad’s, the only place for me to put the bar was in their bedroom doorway, which was complete opposite of where I did the workouts. You just have to know what exercise you’re doing and how to do it.
Thanks, Josh! Another question: I have 5 and 10 lb. free weights….do I need to get the bands to have more of a variety of poundage? And, what bands should I be looking at?
5 and 10lbs should be perfect actually! You might need 15’s, but if so you can talk to dad because I’m sure he has some weights from U-Junk-It.
Hi Josh,
I am looking into getting your P90x chin-up bar, but am not sure if it will fit in my doorway.
I tried the gold’s gym version pull-up bar (from Walmart) and had to return it since it didn’t fit due to the height of the frame at the top of the door.
The frame at the top of my door that the horizontal padded bar would rest on is about 6 inches and the depth is 7″ thick.
Thanks so much and congrats on all of your hard work paying off!
I just tried to measure my bar, and I’m not sure if it will fit or not. My door frame is about 4 inches and has a depth of 6 inches.
Thanks for checking and for the quick response!
It sounds like it will be really close. I want to get this program going ASAP…hopefully this doesn’t hold me back. I’ve been watching all the youtube transformation vids and getting fired up!
Hey i have that iron gym pull up bar. would that work for P90X?
The iron gym doesn’t have all the different grips that the P90X Bar has.
Awesome man! Remember, you can order from this site, and doing so will make me your coach and I’ll be here to help you through the program.
I’ll get dvds soon. Now do I need the pullup bar on DAY1 (or Week1) exercise right away? I know I will know soon but just want to be totally ready as soon as I get dvds.
Yeah, you will need the pull-up bar for the first workout, Chest & Back.
There is only about 1 3/4 inches between my ceiling that the top piece of door trim. Will the long, rectangular piece fit between there? I can’t seem to find the dimension of that thing anywhere on the web.
Thanks!
I just measured, and that piece is just 1 1/2 inches.
Hi, i have a problem. I cannot buy this product because it wont fit in as my room ceiling from inside is low, so this wont fit in.
I have heard of other pull up bars, like this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhgqVyB7lxY
I was wondering should i buy this, does this require screws. Will i get the same effects. Or shall i buy Resistant Bars, they are cheaper and easier to use but i do not know what the results would be.
Hope to hear from you.
Purchase the resistance bands if the bar won’t fit anywhere. They are a great substitute if you can’t use a pull-up bar.
I just bought P90X hoping for great results (maybe like yours). That Chin-up Bar is pretty expensive, and I saw that you wrote that resistance bands are a great substitute for the Chin-Up Bar. My question is what resistance band weight range should I get? Would 5-15lb or 5-20lb be good?
@Andy. It all depends on how strong you currently are. Usually, the 20-40 bands are good for men, but some need more than that. Also, if you haven’t made me your coach yet, click on this link to do so: https://teambeachbody.com/signup/-/signup/free/47458
hey man im lookin to buy p90x in a few weeks. i already have my own chin up bar and 2 dumbells, do i really need the p90x bar? or anything else that is essential to go with it?
@Vlad. If you already have a pull-up bar, you really don’t need the P90X bar. However, there might be a few exercises you won’t be able to do because you don’t have all of the grips that the P90X Bar does. You can also find a list of supplements that I use and recommend in the “Q&A” section of this site. Also, if you purchase P90X from this site, I will become your coach and be here to help you through the program. Let me know if you have other questions!
quick question do you know any other pullup bars that would work because my door is like 35 and i have a bar just like the this one but does not fit and i really dont want to weld it to fix it
@Adam. I don’t know of any other pull-up bar bro.
Hey Josh,
I workout in my basement which is unfinished. Other then wooden beams and steal beams I don’t have a door frame to hook the bar too.
Do you know if this bar is able to work without a door frame?
Thanks,
Chris
P.S this website is awesome!
@Chris. Although I haven’t personally done this, I’m pretty sure it comes with brackets that you can bolt to the wall. It should be in the specifications.
I live in a mobile home. So will the p90x chin up bar be stable enough to use.
I weight ~255, would this pullup bar severely damage my trim if i used it? or does the 300lb maximum mean that the bar can leverage up to 300lbs without breaking the trim, thanks.
@Angel. It all depends on your door frames.
@Greg. I’m pretty sure it says that the bar can hold up to 300lbs. Whether or not that includes your frame or not, I’m not too sure. However, when I first started the program, I worked out with a buddy of mine who was about 240lbs at the time, and it didn’t hurt his frame. I always put a few towels in between the handle and the frame to keep it from marking up as well.
Josh,
Will this chin-up bar fit on a door with trim around the door that is 5 1/2 inches wide? Thanks for your help!
@Jimmy. I’m actually not too sure. You should check out the specifications.
