My Grocery List!

As most of you know, I used the P90X program and Nutrition Guide to get into excellent shape. However, the Nutrition Guide contained some foods that I don’t really care for, so I decided to purchase substitutes that contained the same nutritional value.

I decided to post my grocery list so that next time you go to the store, you can shop like me! I usually shop at Wal-Mart, which seems to be the cheapest, and get the Great Value (GV) brand (Wal-Mart generic) for most products. This is for 1 month of supplies for 2 people!

  1. 2 packages of Strawberries
  2. GV Fat-free whipped cream
  3. 3 Packages of Thomas Whole Wheat English Muffins

Hey, I was just wondering something. I’ve decided to start my diet and eat healthier foods, so what I did was cut out as much unnecessary fats and sweets out of anything that I eat. However, I read something on your forum earlier thats said I need a certain percantage of fats carbs and proteins in my diet accordingly to P90X, but I don’t know how I could calculate that being as I’m only 15 years old. So is it okay if I have minimal fats, and then mostly carbs and protein? If not what could I do?

  2. You have to log what you eat into http://www.fitday.com.

Hey Josh I got my free account for fitday but I’m quite confused on how to use it can you help me please

  4. Josh /

@Rudy. You just log what you eat into it man. You can use http://www.myfitnesspal.com, which is a little easier.

  5. do you only go food shopping one a month? do you freeze most of the food to keep it from going bad?

  6. @Dom. We go shopping a couple times per month, and yeah, we will freeze some foods so that they don’t go back, like bagels.

I was reading over these postings and would love to have you as my team beachbody coach. When I signed up they gave me a coach automatically. Could you tell me how to switch coaches so I can have you instead? Thanks!

  8. @Sandy. Here is how to make the coach switch..

If you would like to make a coach switch, you simply have to send a one line email to coachrelations@teambeachbody.com telling them that you want JOSH SPENCER (Coach ID 47458) at coachspence8@yahoo.com to be your coach. Make sure to include your FULL NAME and email address and to copy me on the email so I can follow up.

? my husband and I just started the P90X program and my husband went shopping with your shopping list and was wondering if there is somewhere I can get where you use everything. I got Jello but when and where is it incorperate in the diet. I need help with dinner recipes that are satisfing to him.(needs some kind of meat) This is hard for me when I really dont know where to begin.

@Lyndsey. You’re going to want to follow the Nutrition Guide that comes along with the program!

Thank you for this list — this gives me something to start with.

Could I use this for the insanity workout?

  13. Josh /

@Mary. It’s important that you try to follow the diet that’s specific to the program. However, most of the foods are very similar.

    Ok, thanks Josh ;)

This is awesome, I did a 30 day round of p90x and stopped because I got lazy, now that I have a start with foods I should consume I’m more confident in what I’m going to be doing. This is very inspirational. I came across your video on YouTube… Only 10 minutes ago and this is where I’ll start my journey! Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you for simplifying this! I’m not even on the P90X plan: my friend/boss is which probably contributes to my loss at where to start! If I can figure this out before he wants to start on Monday (01/07/13), I will be the most amazing person in the world! I’m actually tempted to try this after I get the hang of it for him!
This may seem like a basic question, but what is a recovery shake? Another: is there a vegetarian (not vegan) version of this meal plan somewhere? Please let me know!
By the way, he is Level 3 if it matters (also, he is a supposed to consume over 3000 calories [3300], how will this affect the plan)?

  17. @Desiree. Hey! First of all, am I your coach? Or his coach?
