    Josh,

    I am in week 4 of p90x and when I started I was 186 pounds at 5ft 7in. I had body fat but was more just bulky because I had been working out hard with heavy weight and little cardio. At the beginning of this week I weighed in at 176 pounds. I feel much lighter and healthier mainly because the nutrition guide however I do not look a whole lot different yet. The only supplement I am taking is whey protein after the workout. I want to become ripped but also gain mass and get bigger. What supplements do you recommend? I am starting week 5 next week and I would like to get supplements to start with this week to help achieve my goal.

    It’s very hard to gain mass and get lean at the same time because it requires two different diets. Follow the Nutrition Guide how it’s set up and you will see results. After you reach your target body fat %, then you can focus on gaining mass.

    im 15 and i trained about 3 or 4 month gym now i started with p90x in home this is my first week and its very difficult but i dide like 95% of all workouts i have nice body not fat should I use any kind of protein or something like that or just keep training and see results after 90 days ?? someone help me !!!

    After a workout should I have a whey protein shake or a recovery drink? or both? Right now I am drinking 16oz of low fat chocolate milk which I guess is like a recovery drink (3:1 carbs to protein). I am 6′0 175lbs and I want to be 185lbs. I am confused as to when to take them.     Take the Recovery Drink right after the workout. Don’t take the whey along with it.

    I take creatine about 30 minutes before the workout with 8 oz. of natural fruit juice and then a whey protein shake, the Recovery Formula, or Shakeology after.

Is this ok >> In the morning 1 Protein Shake (whey), 30-45 min before training 5 grams creatin with much water and about 30 min after training another protein shake (whey). You wrote about taking glutamin with every shake, i think i gonna try this too, Are 5 Grams Ok? 10 Grams Glutamin every day. Is this a good plan?     I usually take 5g of glutamine total each day. I only mix it with one protein shake, and that’s the one right after my workout.

    Good job with the transformation. I just got the P90x workout with the recovery and Peak Health supplement. I want to know if I should be taking any other supplement with it. I’m 5′8″ and I weight 195 lb. I want to lose my stomach and gain some body mass but I’m not sure what I should take.

    I am starting p90x next week and i weigh 197 lbs with 22% body fat and I am 5′ 8″. I am thinking about taking creatine etylester, “ce2 hidef” do you think it will be a good idea to do so or it will make me gain more weight instead of getting lean. my main concern is to loose body fat cuz i already have good amount of muscles. thankyou.

    Hey man! I actually don’t recommend creatine until you’re looking to gain only mass. Creatine causes some bloating, which is just from the muscles retaining water, but most people mistake it for fat gain and get discouraged. I am currently 17 years old, 160 lbs. i wanted to ask you a few questions, 1. were you taking these supplements throughout your entire transformation? 2. would you recommend something such as BCAA’s to avoid losing muscle mass while trying to cut?     Yeah, I have been taking the sups since I started P90X, with the exception of Shakeology, which just came out last year. BCAA’s are great, but many of the supplements have them in them.

    Quick question. Did you take any preworkout supplements during your first round? Because I noticed you look crazy lean there and thats what my goal is; I just dont know if I should avoid a preworkout supp because it contains alot of stuff that has the potential to bloat me; thus taking away from my desired lean look.

    @Nicholas. Thanks man! I actually didn’t take any pre-workout sups during my first round. However, I’ve been taking one pretty much ever since and I’ve not had a problem with bloating.

    @Austin. I recommend following P90X bud. Lifting in the gym will only take you so far. Make sure you check with your doctor first, though.
