For the past few months I’ve been using a product recommended to me by a coach on the team called Xtend by Scivation. And for those of you who have your minds in the gutter, no it’s not a male enhancement pill! Now that we have that clarified, you all know that I don’t like to give reviews on products until I’ve been using them for a longer period of time, usually one or two months, and that’s the reason I haven’t really talked about Xtend yet. Now that I’ve been using it for a few months, I feel I’ve been taking it long enough to give an accurate review.
What is Xtend? It’s a proven effective blend of BCAAs (branched chain amino acids), glutamine, Citrulline Malate, and Vitamin B6 to maximize training intensity and “promote optimal muscle protein synthesis and recovery while you train,” according to the Scivation website.
How do you take Xtend? According to the bottle, you’re supposed to mix 3-4 scoops of Xtend with water and sip it all throughout the day. However, I’ve been mixing 3 scoops with water and drinking it during my workouts.
How does Xtend taste? In my opinion, I actually really like the taste of Xtend. However, I have only tried one flavor, orange, and it’s got a refreshing taste to it.
What kind of results have you gotten with Xtend? Here’s the good stuff that everyone’s been waiting for, my Xtend review. Like I mentioned above, I’ve been using Xtend every day during my workouts for a little over a month and a half, and really, I feel I’ve gotten excellent results from it! During my workouts I seem to not get as worn down as I used to, especially during intense workouts like P90X Legs & Back or Chest & Back. Normally my rep counts will go down towards the end of those workouts, but since taking Xtend the rep counts have been staying pretty consistent throughout the entire workout and my energy levels have been great. Other than the immediate effects that I’m experiencing during the workouts, I’ve seen some pretty good gains as well. I am the strongest I’ve been in many years and have seen a definite visual increase in mass, but without the water weight gain that’s associated with creatine. I could bulk in the past with creatine, but all the water weight led to that “bloated” look, and I don’t get that with Xtend.
When it comes down to rating Xtend, I would definitely give it a 9 out of 10 because of the results I have gotten and the good taste, and it’s something that I highly recommend to everyone! I hope you all enjoyed my Xtend review, and I will continue trying new products and writing reviews on them after I use them for a good period of time. Xtend is something that I will continue using with my other supplements on a daily basis.
