Samantha’s Shakeology Results Story
“Let me see where my fitness journey began… in high school I had to take that ‘mandatory’ physical education course to graduate so I enrolled in a Female Fitness class, since I’m too uncoordinated to play sports. I enjoyed it so much one year that I took it the following year. It taught me the basics of weight training and by the end of the year I could run 5km easily. Then after high school was done, and I didn’t have to attend this class anymore, I lost my motivation and commitment – working out was no longer mandatory. My muscles slowly shrank and turned into ‘flab’ and my stamina gradually decreased. I didn’t think much of it at first, until I couldn’t run like I used to. As a university student the workload and stress got to me. I had horrible eating habits, including snacking whenever I wanted and eating junk food while studying. I tried to fit in workouts whenever possible (usually 30 minutes of cardio every other week). But this obviously didn’t stick as part of my routine. Two years later and I was tired of feeling of guilty all the time and I needed a change.
Over the past summer I took up hot yoga with my sister and went 2-3 times per week. My flexibility, balance, and breathing improved; and it definitely alleviated some major stress and tension I was withholding. It made me realize that I wanted more. That was around the time I read Sara Di Capo’s fitness journey (Check out her Shakeology review) and seeing her AMAZING results I needed to know how she got there. That was when she introduced me to Shakeology. It started out as a sample, and I was addicted. I started drinking Shakeology every day and working out with Sara. It really makes a difference when you have someone to keep you motivated towards your goals.
When I decided to do the Shakeology 3-day cleanse, it was after I had been using Shakeology for about a month. I wasn’t looking forward to the fact I couldn’t add anything to the shake, but I committed myself to this decision. The first day was probably the most difficult to get through. But after that I realized I could survive on fewer calories; I just needed to space out my meals and eat only when I was truly hungry. The Shakeology 3-day cleanse also forced me to drink more water. Then I began asking myself is it thirst or is it hunger? Most of the time it was thirst, and I didn’t really need to ingest any more calories. Three days later, 7lbs lighter, and feeling completely satisfied, I wondered why I didn’t do this from the beginning.
Since I started drinking Shakeology I have had more energy, less cravings, and I have actually stuck to my workout schedule. If I don’t have Shakeology in the morning, I crave it until I get it. I know this isn’t your typical fitness journey. I didn’t complete P90X or Insanity. I mix up my workout routine to keep me interested and motivated.
