Shakeology Flavors

You all already know I love Shakeology, and it’s something I’m always talking about and recommending to practically anyone I ever talk to, but what about the different Shakeology flavors? Which one do I recommend and why?

Before I even get into the Shakeology flavors, though, you first need to know what Shakeology even is. Shakeology is a meal replacement, well, I guess much more than that because of it’s nutritional value, that I have been using every day for the past year and a half. Within the first month of using it I lost an additional 10 lbs, and at that point I had sort of hit a plateau and was having a hard time getting rid of that last bit of body fat. After I got results with it, I got my fiance Melinda (AKA P90X Coach Melinda) on it, and within the first month she lost about 25 lbs, and the only thing she switched up was by adding Shakeology to her diet! Because we both got results with it and knew it would work for others, we recommended it to our family and all of the people that we coach. Since then, we’ve heard hundreds of Shakeology success stories from the people that we’ve gotten on it! Now on to the different Shakeology flavors. There are two flavors, Chocolate and Greenberry, and I can tell you that one tastes much better than the other. Can you guess which one? Of course chocolate. I mean who doesn’t like chocolate, right? Crazy enough, though, I’ve had some people tell me it’s “too chocolaty” when I send them a Shakeology sample, which completely blows my mind. How can anything be “too chocolaty?” Back when I was a fat guy I loved chocolate, and to this day I still crave chocolate, but fortunately I have Shakeology to suppress those cravings. The Chocolate Shakeology is amazing, period. If you blend it with 1.5 cups almond milk, 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter, 5-6 ice cubes, you get a magically delicious tasting treat that literally tastes like a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. (Here’s other great Shakeology Recipes). Now how good does that sound right now? And I’m not kidding either! It really does taste like it, which is the reason I’ve been having it lately right before bed, when I get my cravings the most. There is nothing bad in Shakeology, so I take it before bed because I know it’s going to help repair my muscles while I sleep. Plus, the Insanity Asylum diet guide says I can have it before bed.

What about Greenberry. Eh, it’s OK. It’s not the best tasting, but it’s not terrible either. I guess I’m a little biased, though, because the chocolate tastes absolutely amazing, so that’s what I compare it to. If you blend it with some orange juice and a banana, though, it tastes pretty good. It’s hard to really describe what it tastes like, but my sister, who absolutely loves the Greenberry, compares it to Flintstone Vitamins.

  1. I know there’s lovers of Greenberry out there (especially when “mixified” with something else) but I have to side with you on this one. Chocolate is the Served up plain it’s very “cocoa-ey” with a hint of cinnamon. Probably where “too chocolatey” comes from. Thing is, any healthy mix in (peanut butter/almond milk/additional whey powder) changes up the flavor… making it more delicious… if that’s even possible.

    I reeeaaaally hope that the new flavor is Strawberry or Vanilla or something. I think the best flavors would be those that could be mixed with milk, not fruit juice – the tropical and fruit flavors would require sugary juice. Chocolate is great because it allows you to add protein-rich things like peanut butter, vanilla/chocolate protein powder, etc. Plus it is more satisfying to feed the chocolate cravings than to spike insulin levels with fruity drinks.
