Shakeology PictureI’ll have to admit, when Beachbody first released Shakeology, I was a little skeptical. I wasn’t too sure why there was such hype about a Meal Replacement Shake. However, as I started doing more research about it,  kept hearing nothing but positive things from the people I coach and the entire Beachbody community, and tried it out for myself, my skepticism disappeared. Shakeology has now become the most popular Beachbody supplement ever! Why?

The thing that people constantly struggle with is keeping track of the amount of calories and % of fat/carbs/protein, and always with finding healthy meals to eat on a regular basis. I can’t tell you how many people email me asking me what can they eat that has the right amount of nutrients and vitamins that also doesn’t throw off their ratios. If you’re like me, you like it when you have complete control over the amount of calories you take in and don’t have to prepare an entire meal. I am not a big fan of preparing for lunch for an hour, and rather have something that I can make in a few minutes and get on my way. These are the reasons, among many others, that Shakeology has become extremely popular!

Shakeology contains just 140 calories, 17g of carbs, 17g of protein, and just 1g of fat per serving. You can use it as a meal replacement, or as a healthy snack if you have trouble getting in 5 meals per day. There are two flavors: Chocolate and Greenberry, and both are very good! The chocolate flavor is very rich, while the Greenberry is more on the sweeter side. Shakeology can help you increase energy, lose weight, reduce cravings, and promote healthy digestion and regularity.     I just started P90X on Friday with my boss. I’m digging the workouts, but I’ve noticed that at the end of week 1, I haven’t lost any weight. My boss on the other hand has lost 5lbs. Were you taking any supplements or fat burners when you first started? Another question, my boss doesn’t have alot of options as far as dumb bells go. I noticed you said you are working out with 50lbs now. I’m going to purchase some weights but I was wondering should I get a whole set or specific pounds like 30’s 40’s?


  2. I actually wasn’t taking any fat burners when I started, and I don’t recommend it either. You need to make sure you’re eating properly, taking in the right amount of calories and % of f/c/p per day, and you can keep track of that by logging what you eat into You need to have at least a 500 caloric deficit each day if you want to lose weight consistently. Shakeology is a supplement that has helped many people lose weight and get into shape, and one that I highly recommend.     I am not sure what 500 caloric deficit means…?


  4. For example, let’s say you take in 2,500 calories per day. You must burn 3,000 cals per day if you want a 500 caloric deficit. Remember, you burn calories with everything that you do during the day, not just with working out.

    Do the Shakology shakes truely cost $4 each?
    Its very difficult to actually tell on the website what you are getting for $120.

    @Russ. Shakeology comes in a month supply, so yeah, they average out around $4 per serving. Like I said, if you use it as a meal replacement every day it justifies the cost.
