Tropical Shakeology Review
Dang, OK, so I know it’s been a LONG while since I posted, but things have been crazy hectic around here from trying to get settled into the new house. Anyways, for the past 2 weeks I have been using Tropical Shakeology as a meal replacement for lunch on a daily basis, and I think now’s a good time to write an accurate review since I’ve been using it for a while. I didn’t want to write one right away because (1) It wouldn’t have been enough time and (2) I wanted to find the best Tropical Shakeology recipe to recommend to you all. OK, so here it is, my Tropical Shakeology review!
I decided to buy Tropical Shakeology in bag form this time (believe it or not this is my FIRST time ordering the bag after using it for over 2 YEARS!), and when I opened it I was very surprised with how great it smelled. It really did smell like a blend of a ton of fruit! You know what, before I get into anything else, I have to explain that the new Tropical Shakeology is 100% vegan. It’s part of the Beachbody Ultimate brand, which is a newly created line of supplements that meet the highest of quality possible, so when you see the Ultimate logo, you know you’re doing something great for your body! It’s one of the main reasons why I have been so excited to try it out! OK, back to what I was saying. Like I mentioned, it smelled great, but the real test was going to be on how it tasted. I blended it with 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup of orange juice, ice and mango the first time I tried it out, and honestly, it tasted amazing! It’s not as fruity as I thought it would be, but it’s still very good. One of the things that people were telling me they didn’t like about the new flavor was that they experienced a sort of chalky after effect in their mouthes, and I know exactly what they’re talking about, but it’s not bad at all. It doesn’t leave a bitter taste, but the consistency is sort of chalky. Kind of hard to explain, but hopefully you understand what I’m saying. I actually did some research and found out that the chalky consistency we’re talking about is from the brown rice protein that’s in the new Tropical Shakeology and not the other flavors. In the Chocolate and Greenberry, whey protein was used, and brown rice protein is supposed to be better for you.
That sort of leads into what I want to talk about next. Over the course of many years of using whey protein, I found that I always get bloated and gassy after using it, and the same happened when I would drink Chocolate Shakeology. What I think is happening, at least from the research I’ve done, is that I might have a slight issue with lactose. Since the new Tropical Shakeology has brown rice protein in it instead of whey, I was excited to try it out to see how my body responded, and I believe I have fixed the bloating issue! Over the course of 2 weeks of using it, I haven’t had one issue at all. So if you have issues with whey protein, you might want to give the Tropical flavor a try!
So as I’m writing this post I’m actually drinking a new Tropical Shakeology recipe Melinda just made for me, and honestly, this is the best one yet. I believe she blended it with 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup water, and a banana and DANG does it taste great! I’m drinking it so fast, though, that I’m absolutely freezing and probably will start shivering here any minute.
What it all comes down to is that Tropical Shakeology ROCKS! I hope my Tropical Shakeology review gave you all a good indication of what it’s all about. I will continue to use Tropical, but also use Chocolate as well since I love that flavor so much. I will have some Tropical Shakeology samples to send out as soon as I get another shipment in, so if you want one, just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
