I have taken some time off from pre-workout supplements because I was really focusing on getting lean for all the Beachbody Events that have been going on over the past 2-3 months. The little bit of creatine that’s in pre-workout supplements causes me to retain some water, and I don’t like the “bloated” look. However, now I am done with my “travel season” until February so I have started back on my favorite pre-workout supplement again, 1.M.R.
For the past few weeks I’ve had a tough time doing any resistance training because I’ve been traveling, so I have been doing mostly cardio workouts. When I follow just cardio workouts for even a short period of time, I lose muscle mass quickly! Yesterday was probably the 2nd resistance workout that I’ve done in 3 weeks, and I decided to do P90X Shoulders & Arms. I went out and purchased the new Orange 1MR, and I was surprised that it tasted OK. If you have ever tried 1.M.R. before, for it to taste OK is saying a lot because it normally tastes like crap! You have to choke it down, but then again, you don’t purchase pre-workout supplements for the taste.
It’s been quite a while since I’ve had any pre-workout supplements, so very shortly after I took it I started to have that “tingly” feeling that you get from the beta alanine. Within 10 minutes I started to feel that awesome rush of energy, and not too long after that I began my workout. I literally don’t think I’ve had a better workout in the past 4-5 months than I did last night! It completely solidified why I have thought that 1MR is the best pre-workout supplement on the market.
I was completely surprised with the amount of reps that I was able to get and how short of time I took in between sets. I would bust out 15 reps of regular curls and then get 10-12 more just a minute afterwards. After going through two sets of the regular curls, my arms were literally numb, which is something I don’t think I’ve experienced in a LONG time! The shoulder exercises were the same way, and I was very surprised with the amount of reps that I was able to get after not doing much resistance training for 3 weeks. I was able to maintain my energy and stamina throughout the entire workout, which is another reason why 1.M.R. is the best pre-workout supplement.
After the workout, though, I was completely shot. As I have said before in previous 1MR Reviews, after I am finished with my workout I hit a wall and crash hardcore. It’s strange because I have talked to other people, and they don’t experience the same thing, but I literally feel exhausted and spaced out about a half hour after I finish my workout. However, I really don’t mind because it makes me feel that I got in an AWESOME workout, which I did. I actually ended up going to bed around 11 PM because I was that exhausted!
Today my biceps and shoulders and REALLY hurting! 1.M.R. is a great pre-workout supplement, and I’m excited to get back on it and take my workouts to a whole new level!
