My P90X Transformation Story: Back towards the end of February of 2008 I came to a point in my life where I knew I needed a change. I was unhappy with the way I looked, felt, my confidence took a plunge, and my relationships and career were all suffering because of it. I knew that I needed to get healthy and stay healthy, so I started looking for something that could help me achieve my fitness goals. Late one night, bowl of ice cream with chocolate hard shell in hand, I was watching TV and came across the P90X infomercial. I don’t know what it was, maybe the intensity of the workouts, but somehow I knew this program was for me, and without hesitation, I jumped online, checked out some more P90X transformation photos, and made the purchase!
I remember waiting anxiously for the package to arrive, and about 5 days later it did, along with the P90X Pull-Up bar! I opened the package, and the first thing that I did was go over the Nutrition Guide. I knew that if I was going to make a serious change in my life, I needed to commit myself 100% to the entire program, which included the diet. After thoroughly going through and understanding it, I assembled the pull-up bar, and then popped in the first P90X workout, Chest & Back. I will never forget that workout, mostly because I made it about half way through before I got nauseated to the point of almost throwing up, but even though I felt that way, I pushed myself as hard as possible to complete it. It wasn’t pretty, but I managed to get through the entire workout! Proud of myself, but yet completely and utterly exhausted, I laid sprawled out on the floor, and then out of nowhere I hear this music. I look back up to the TV, and there Tony Horton was, telling me that I wasn’t finished and had to complete Ab Ripper X. Really? I sucked it up, pushed myself, and completed the workout without complaining.
For the next few weeks I could barely move! I went through all the normal workouts for the first Phase, including P90X Legs & Back, Core Synergistics, and Shoulders & Arms, and was so sore that I could barely walk, stand up, sit down, or do anything at all for that matter without some sort of pain! However, even though it hurt like heck, I enjoyed it, only because I knew I was making a serious change to my body. On top of that, I was already seeing results, and had lost almost 10 lbs in just 2 weeks! Super impressed and motivated, I stuck with the program for the entire 90 days, not drinking any alcohol, not cheating on the diet, and literally got into the best shape of my life! I had lost 25 lbs, 10% body fat, and had went from a size 33 (pushing 34) waist all the way down to a 30! I had accomplished what I wanted to accomplish, but didn’t stop there. This was now a lifestyle change, and I wanted to make sure I looked and felt this way for as long as I lived! Since my first round of P90X, I have gone through P90X Plus, Insanity, One on One, Turbofire, Brazil Butt Lift, and now Insanity Asylum!
